Patronal Feasts and Festivals

In all the Salento cities, the Feasts dedicated to the Saint Patron are very heartfelt and are an opportunity to show off splendid lights, with artisans that compete in the creation of elaborate "parazioni" (in local dialect), wooden buildings covered with thousands of bulbs.
Usually, during these feasts, you may attend wonderful fireworks shows.

Here below some feasts that take place in summer: 

RUFFANO - Sant’Antonio da Padova - 13th June (usually repeated in August)

SUPERSANO - Blessed Virgin of Coelimanna - 4th July

SCORRANO – Santa Domenica - 6th July

GALLIPOLI - Santa Cristina - July 24th

MONTESANO SALENTINO - San Donato - 7th August

OTRANTO - Feast of the Holy Martyrs - 13th,14th,15th August

RUFFANO - Sant’Antonio da Padova - 13th August

TORREPADULI, RUFFANO – San Rocco – 15th,16th August

SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA - Our Lady of the Assumption - 15th August

LECCE - Sant’Oronzo, San Giusto and San Fortunato - 24th, 25th, 26th August

Furthermore many Country Festivals are organized in summer in many towns.
